rainbo

Release notes

Here’s what each version of rainbo changed. rainbo shows these notes when it finds an update, and you can always download the newest version from the home page.

Version 1.0.1

The first time you open rainbo, it shows the page where you allow Screen Recording, with a Grant button that puts rainbo in the list in System Settings. The same page lets you open rainbo at login and set your shortcuts, and it comes back whenever rainbo opens without Screen Recording.

Quit and Reopen shows up only after you switch Screen Recording on.

Opened from anywhere outside Applications, rainbo offers to move itself there and puts the copy it leaves behind in the Trash.

A new install opens the History strip with Control-Option-H. If you’re updating, yours stays Control-Shift-H until you change it in Settings.

Version 1.0

The first version of rainbo is out, and it needs macOS 26 or later.

Pick any color on your screen and rainbo copies its hex, true to the color your screen shows. Every pick lands in your history with the app it came from. The contrast check tells you whether text can be read on what’s behind it, and the colors you pick most turn into beaux.
